Leslie Mary Worden
Leslie Mary (MacEachern) Worden (1949-2026). Leslie passed away peacefully in her sleep, at home on Saturday April 25th, 2026 at the age of 76. She was the treasured daughter of the late Barbara Jane (Hawke) and the late Norman Donald MacEachern. Leslie was the beloved wife to the late Venerable Gordon Henry Worden, and loving mother of Rebecca Worden (Peter McCracken), Emily Worden-Kwok (Jeffrey Kwok), and Jessica Worden (former spouse Eric-Vance Bolling). She was adored by her grandchildren Zachary, Kaella, Sarah, Liam, and Kyle. Leslie was a cherished sister of Dick MacEachern (Kathy) and a dear sister-in-law to Jill MacFarlane (Dave), the late Brian McCloskey, Joanne Priest (the late Gordon), Judy Fredette, and the late Greg McCloskey (Lois). She is fondly remembered by her nieces, nephews and cousins.
Leslie had an adventurous life traveling and moving to many different places as her father was in the military and then her husband was an Anglican Church minister. Beginning in childhood, she was always a very talented musician who played the piano, autoharp, accordion, and sang. She was a member of several different music groups and choirs. For Leslie there was never a moment that didn’t call for a familiar or improvised tune. Leslie was always excited to share that she studied computer technology at Western University when one computer was the size of a large room. Shortly after the home computer became popular, Leslie rejoined the work force and taught many people how to use the computer. She answered questions like “What is a floppy disk?” and “Where do you find the start button?”. This job was a perfect match for Leslie’s endless patience and excitement to share any new and interesting gadget with others. Later in life, Leslie was delighted to discover her birth mother, the late Roberta (Glendinning) Clausen. She was thrilled to meet with members of her maternal birth family including sisters Carol, Jan, Brenda, and Pat Clausen, as well as her cousin Shawn Glendinning. Leslie also got to meet several people from her birth father’s line. A real-life mystery to solve with an exciting ending!
Leslie was a dedicated volunteer for many causes including the Girl Guides of Canada, the Anglican Church of Canada, the Anglican Church Women, and the Ottawa Anglican Cursillo Movement. She was always collecting and distributing valued items for varied causes. Her faith was important to her, and this was reflected in the work she did for Ascension House, and the Anglican Church Archives as an Information Technologist.
