Alice Hall
1927-2026
It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother, Alice Hall (née Perron), on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at Dundas Manor Long-Term Care in Winchester, Ontario, at the age of 98. Just three months shy of celebrating her 99th birthday, she left this world peacefully, surrounded by the compassionate care of those who had come to know and love her.
Alice was the beloved wife of the late Thomas (Thom) Hall. They shared 63 wonderful years of marriage before his passing in November 2012.
She leaves behind her loving son, Perry Hall (Carole St-Jean-Hall), and her son-in-law, Eric Angus (husband of her late daughter Peggy), who will forever cherish her memory. She was a proud and loving grandmother to 8 grandchildren and a treasured great-grandmother to 16 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immense joy throughout her life.
She is now reunited with her beloved parents, the late Benjamin Perron and the late Éliza Blouin, and with her children who predeceased her: Larry Hall (the late Marie Joanisse and the late Florette Rainville), Jean Murray (the late Bob), Peggy Angus (Eric), and Carol (Tulshi). She was also predeceased by her brothers, Oswald and Jules Perron, and her sister, Aurore.
She is survived by her dear sister, Liliane Verhof (Dick), along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will miss her dearly.
Alice was an amazing cook and baker, and her home was always open to welcome anyone who needed a place to eat, stay, or simply visit. She was an avid gardener, loved to knit, and was a devoted member of the United Church Women (UCW) in both Gatineau and Osgoode.
To know Alice was to know unconditional love, quiet strength, and a heart that always put family first. She never hesitated to open her home, share a meal, or lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Her generous heart, warm smile, and caring spirit touched the lives of everyone who knew her.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Alice’s life at a funeral service, in the presence of her ashes, on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Templeton United Church, 942 Notre-Dame Street, Gatineau, Quebec. A cemetery service will follow, and everyone is warmly invited to join the family afterward for a luncheon and time of fellowship.
In keeping with Alice’s wishes, there will be no visitation at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family would be grateful for donations to help support the construction of the new Dundas Manor Long-Term Care Home. If you wish to make a donation in Alice’s memory, please visit www.wdmhfoundation.ca, scroll down to “Help Build the New Dundas Manor!”, click “Donate Now,” and complete the donation form. Our family would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the entire staff at Dundas Manor Long-Term Care for the exceptional compassion, kindness, and dedicated care they provided to Mom throughout her time there. Your love and support brought great comfort not only to her, but to all of us.
Mom lived a remarkable life spanning nearly 99 years—a life filled with love, strength, resilience, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family. Her greatest joy was the people she loved, and the legacy she leaves behind will continue to live on through her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all those whose lives she touched.
She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever held in our hearts.
