It is with heavy hearts and countless cherished memories that we announce the passing of Shawn Wade Patrick who left us suddenly on January 31, 2026. Known for his unmistakable voice, booming laugh, and the way he could turn any room into a celebration, he was truly the life of every party. His presence was big, bold, and unforgettable.
Born on April 10, 1970 in Trenton, Ontario, he grew up with a deep love for hockey—one that shaped his life and the lives of so many around him. Whether he was lacing up his own skates, cheering from the stands, or supporting minor hockey with unwavering passion, the rink was his second home. He believed in the power of sport to build character, community, and joy, and he poured his heart into every team, every game, and every young player who crossed his path.
He is survived by his best friend and wife, Lorrie Patrick and his three children: Raegan Patrick (Sam Clement), Ryan Patrick (Jenelle), and Taylor Fenton. He was a proud Papa to Lawson with another grandson on the way, who he was already so excited to meet. He couldn’t wait to share his love and passion for hockey with the boys.
He will be deeply missed by his mother, Georgia Lee Patrick, and is predeceased by his father, Raymond Patrick. He was a loved son?in?law to Pam Holmes and Dave Holmes (Cheryl). He is also survived by his sister Lisa Stacey (Mike), his uncles Joel Roberts and Paul Roberts. He is further survived by brothers?in?law Cory Holmes, Devan Cunningham (Kelly), Curtis Brown (Shelley), Steph Barr (Lyle), Troy Brown (Kathleen), Scot Brown (Anna), and many nieces and nephews. He leaves behind his former spouse and close friend Krista Koch (Dave Herbert). He also leaves behind extended family, teammates, lifelong friends, and an entire hockey community who felt like family.
His deep love for animals and his lifelong devotion to minor hockey were at the core of who he was. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your local Humane Society or to Arnprior Minor Hockey.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday February 21, 2026 at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 148, 30 Raglan Street, Renfrew, Ontario from 6 pm – 9 pm.
His legacy will live on in every rink he touched, every story shared, and every moment of laughter he inspired.

Oh the laughter and memories! They are endless. Shawn Patrick...the stories! We loved that man. Never knew how he was going to show up; decked out on a Harley, coming up the street on a very old ride on mower with the biggest smile. A funny, funny man. He is missed and we are truly so very sorry for your loss. Irreplaceable!!

Grief is like the ocean: it comes on waves ebbing and flowing. Sometimes the water is calm and sometimes it's overwhelming. All we can do is learn to swim. Shawn helped me learn how to swim.
