In memory of

Jason Adam Wiskin

1978 - 2025

Jason Adam Wiskin

June 12, 1978 – December 26, 2025

It is with profound sadness that Carolyn (Terry) McMillan announces the passing of her beloved son, Jason Adam Wiskin, on December 26, 2025 at St. Vincent Hospital in Ottawa. Jason also leaves behind his father, Howard Wiskin; his half-siblings, Wesley (Drayke and Oceana), Alice, Leslie and Paul; and his uncle, Don McMillan. He will be deeply missed by a wide community of friends who were touched by his warmth and spirit.

Known as “Jay” to his friends and affectionately called “The Jas” by his family, Jason had a soul made of quiet gentleness, but his smile was pure electricity. It had this mischievous, glowing habit of catching on the faces of everyone he met, leaving a trail of light behind him. He lived his life with a quiet generosity, thriving on the simple joy of helping anyone he encountered.

Jason found great happiness in the world of video games, music, and painting. In his final days, he shared his hope that wherever his journey takes him next, there will be games to play, and he made it very clear that he intends to win them all!

Remembering Jason

There will be no formal funeral services. Instead, his mother hopes that his friends will find joy in his memory by walking together in this year’s Capital Pride Parade in Ottawa. Jason’s ashes will be laid to rest in a private ceremony in the spring.

Heartfelt Thanks

Carolyn wishes to express her profound gratitude to the medical teams who supported Jason. Deepest thanks to the doctors and nurses of 6 West at the Ottawa General Hospital, and specifically to Dr. L. Ly, MD, for the honesty and clarity that Jason needed to make his final decisions. Thanks also to Dr. J Caudrelier for his empathy and care.

A special thank you to Mary-Anne Bourque, Clinical Chaplain, as well as the nurses and staff at St. Vincent Hospital, for the gentleness shown to Jason in his final hours.

Dear Terry, I am so sorry to learn of Jason's passing. You have been the best loving mom a son could ever have. Jason absolutely had the glimmer in his eyes that comes with a soul lightly travelling through life with a joy in seeing everything he could. The kind heart you have lived in Jason too. It will live on forever. Much love to you.
