"So when I've done my roaming, and when my step grows when I feel safe, then let me rest in Yorkshire, for it's there I want to link to neath sun and wind and heather ... and a gleaming Yorkshire sky. "

So sad to hear ... Even though it’s been years, I can still hear her laughter

My husband and I both had the pleasure of meeting Wendy in our exercise classes at Dovercourt. I was immediately struck by her friendly, warm, and softspoken manner. Wendy was one of those rare people that made you feel so comfortable in her presence as if you had known her for years. We are saddened to hear of her passing and send our heartfelt condolences to her family in Yorkshire and her friends here and abroad. Rest in peace sweet lady. Maria and John Barker

It was very sad to hear about Wendy's death from one of her friends in Ottawa. I've known Wendy most of my life; played with her as a small girl, she lived near my cousin in Hebden Bridge. I met her again when I started work at an engineering works in Hebden Bridge where she was the secretary to the Deputy MD. Worked with her for about 2 years before she left for another job in Halifax. Kept in touch with her, mainly at Christmas, after she emigrated to Canada in the early 70's . She'll be sadly missed by all her friends.
