Mary Tasci (nee Crummie)
1940-2020
It is with great sadness that the family of Mary Margaret Tasci announces her peaceful passing on Friday December 11, 2020 in Wakefield, Quebec after a ten-month long battle with pancreatic cancer.
Born on February 24, 1940 in Portadown N. Ireland, Mary grew up in the port town of Dundalk, Ireland. Ambitious to have a career, she left to study radiography in England, then later in life upgraded her skills to become a sonographer. Ever the adventurer, Mary met her beloved husband Eduardo, in Turkey where she gave birth to her first child. They then moved to Brussels, Belgium where they operated a hotel, and their two sons were born. Pregnant with her fourth child, the family moved to Dundalk, Ireland in 1976. For their last big move Mary and family emigrated to Canada in 1980 - a country she fully embraced and truly loved.
Mary will be remembered for her stunning beauty, sharp wit, easy smile, insatiable curiosity, and large, loving heart. She loved spending time with her family and friends, traveling and enjoying good food over interesting conversation. In her later years, Mary enjoyed singing in choirs, painting the landscapes of her childhood, and was always up for adventure traveling whenever and wherever she could. She takes her final voyage into that good night and the eternal love, light, and mercy of God.
Mary will be lovingly remembered by her children Olga (Greg Wiebe), Patrick (Marlene Lowden), Philippe (Misbah Mukri) and Nadia (Uros Jelic), and stepchildren George Tasci, Rea Tsatsoulis, and Katina Tinnivlioglu. Mary will also be fondly remembered by her seven beloved grandchildren Terran, Zohra, Zeba, Erin, Tara, Katya, and Theo. She will also be remembered by her sisters Clodagh O’Callaghan, Aveen Ferguson, Orla Sugden, and Sheena King, her brother Dr. Arthur Crummie and all her nieces and nephews.
A private funeral will be held on Thursday, January 14 at St-Stephens Church, Chelsea Quebec. Live streaming is being arranged, contact tasciwiebe@gmail.com for details.
The family also plans to hold a celebration of her life next summer.
Donations in her memory may be made to the Good Companions Centre in Ottawa at thegoodcompanions.ca

Dear Phil and Family
As our parents leave us, their spirit simply finds the crevices and hollows of our bodies to allow us to stay warm and connected. We are meant to simply accept.

We are truly saddened by Mary’s passing, and we know you must be feeling her loss even more deeply.
We fell in love with Mary from the beginning and always enjoyed her company. We loved her no nonsense approach to life, free spirit and wit.
In the last year, we admired the strength, calm and grace with which Mary faced her diagnosis and last months of life. She was fortunate to leave this earth peacefully and surrounded by you, her beloved family, until her last day.
Mary will be deeply missed by all of us.

Very sad to learn of Mary's passing. She could always light up a room with her smile. I enjoyed singing with her both in Castenchel choir and St. Stephen's Sunday mass choir . She always had an encouraging and kind word for everyone always with her lovely accent.
Sending my deepest sympathies to all her family. Treasured memories of her will sustain.
