In memory of

Margaret Geraldine McLuskey

1946 - 2025

Margaret Geraldine McLuskey, born May 23, 1946 in Toronto, Ontario passed away peacefully in Ottawa on  December 20th, 2025, with her friend of 65 years, Gail Somers, by her side.  She will be sadly missed by her cherished friend and neighbour Gail K. as well as  her  many neighbours and friends in Toronto.

Margaret was predeceased by her parents Margaret Skelton (nee Wells) and Louis Frederick Skelton. In 1974, Margaret married Michael Dean, who sadly passed away after only 6 months of marriage.  In November 1977, she married Peter McLuskey. Margaret and Peter enjoyed many travel adventures during their marriage. After more than 25 years of marriage, they divorced, but remained friends. Margaret had a successful career, and retired in 2019.

Margaret loved animals and spent her free time adopting and caring for her cats. In 2022, Margaret had a severe stroke and was subsequently transferred to Ottawa by her friend Gail Somers, so she could help care for her.  Margaret took up residence at the Gary J. Armstrong Long Term Care home due to her declining health. Margaret easily made friends with the nurses, care workers (PSWs), volunteers and the other residents in the home.  She also enjoyed the activities and visiting musicians who helped keep life interesting during their regular scheduled visits arranged by the home.

Arrangements were made for Margaret to be cremated.  Burial services will be arranged at a later date.

Thank you for being a friendly neighbour who was very welcoming when I moved into my condo. We shared a love of cats and I enjoyed your company at our condo get togethers. Rest in peace! Carol

I came to know Margaret when she lived in Mississauga. Visits to Tims and chats about her past, Teddy, Hudson and Rex😀 come to mind as I write this. Although we lost touch when she moved to Ottawa she was often in my thoughts. Always wondered how she was and was saddened to hear of her passing. May you rest in peace Maragaret. Kim

Margaret, you were a sensitive and good soul. I enjoyed hearing comical stories about Teddy, Missy and Scout while we had a meal or a coffee. I wish you eternal peace in the afterlife and hope you are reunited with your loved ones.
