Gérard Henrie
1941-2026
Gérard Henrie, age 85, of Ottawa, Ontario, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving wife, children, and their spouses.
Gérard was a dedicated driver with OC Transpo, where he worked for 30 years before retiring. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and could be counted on to do whatever was needed to help others. When he wasn’t working, Gérard enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family and friends.
He was the beloved son of the late Donat Henrie and the late Yvonne Deschamps.
Gérard will be dearly missed by his wife of 62 years, Rachel (Belanger); his three children, Lyne (Kelly Ewert), Marc (Line Chalifoux), and Adèle (Carl Champoux); and his four grandsons, Eric Desjardins (Anna Black), Alex Desjardins, Jean-Nicholas Henrie (Kat Lawlis), and Cole Champoux (Francesca Farrell).
He will also be lovingly remembered by his brother André (Annette) and his sister Nicole. He was predeceased by his brother Philippe (Pauline) and his sister Pierrette. Gérard also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and MANY dear friends who will miss him dearly.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Drs. Locke, Djerrah, Chaput, Lemieux and Seale; Radiation Therapist Kelly Linden; Bayshore nurses Asha, Donoka, Mohamed, and Blake; and Bruyère nurse Elise Skinner for their compassionate care, kindness, and support.
As per his wishes, there will be no funeral.
