Dib Aziz Chaccour
1946 – 2026
In loving memory of Dib Aziz Chaccour, who passed away on Saturday, March 21st, 2026, at the Ottawa Civic Hospital just before his 80th birthday. He was a devoted husband to Rosana, a father, grandfather and brother who touched the lives of all who knew him.
Dib was born in a small village in Mount Lebanon, Lebanon. He carried a deep connection to his homeland and never gave up on it despite years of war and hardship. After moving to Canada he brought with him his love for family, community and gardening. He especially enjoyed planting and collecting heirloom seeds, a tradition he leaves to his children to continue.
Dib was the proud father of four children: Pascale (Ramez), Rony (Jillian), Jessy (Youssef) and Elias. His legacy lives on through his seven grandchildren, who live around the world: Mary-Jo and Roland (children of Pascale, Canada), Chloé, Lexy, and Abigail (children of Rony, Australia), and Joya and Joe (children of Jessy, Lebanon). Dib had immense love for his grandchildren and was very proud of their personal and academic achievements.
He was also a cherished brother to his sisters and brothers in Lebanon. They will remember him for his lively spirit, his generosity without limits and his dedication to preserving family traditions.
Dib will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A visitation and service celebrating his life will take place on Wednesday, March 25th, 2026 at St. Elias Antiochian Orthodox Cathedral, 750 Ridgewood Ave, Ottawa, ON., K1V 6N1.
Visitation will begin at 11:00 am with service to follow at noon. He will be laid to rest at Beechwood Cemetery.

To the Chaccour family: I am so sorry for your loss, and hold your whole family in my heart.
Elias - I never met your dad, but after 20 years of hearing about him, I feel like I have. And throughout every story, anecdote, and moment shared, it's been obvious to me how much love you both held for each other. Now that he's at rest, we'll keep him alive with our memories.
