I’m so sorry for the loss of your precious mom. Her story is one of an adventurous and generous spirit. I see how you, Meg, have grown into such a force. Hugging you from afar. Our time with loved ones is just never long enough. May you tell (and write!) her stories forever.

Sending warmth and empathy as you live through this difficult aspect of life. Your Mom sounds like someone I would have enjoyed meeting and scheming with. May your connection remain strong through the memories and the stories, the ones you've shared and the ones yet to be.

Our deepest sympathies to you both. We probably only met (one of you likely and quite a few years ago) when Debbie brought you along to meetings about different social housing developments in the office of Otto + Bryden Architects (later Otto Bryden Erskine Martel). Debbie was a substantive part of all our work in the social housing field and also in all the developments of Gloucester Housing Corporation over a period of 20 years from it's inception. Debbie was an absolute joy to work with and she brought solid dedication and a good touch of humour to all her hard efforts. Knowing and working with her over a period of more than 35 years has been a rewarding experience. She will be very well remembered and has left a solid mark in all the communities she worked with.

And add to her list of achievements _ another measure of her warm curiosity and abiding sense of fairness _ the fact that she welcomed two lesbian parents into the Chelsea community some 40 years ago with great enthusiasm and affection. That was a long time ago; lesbian parents were something new, and, for some, something discomforting. But we always knew that Debbie had our backs and always would. Very sorry to hear this news, but she was immensely proud of her daughters.

Please accept my most sincere condolences. I was very lucky to have worked with your mom over the last 16 years. As you and many know, Deb was fierce and loyal and dedicated to helping less fortunate through her devotion to the not-for-profit housing sector. I just want you to know that I and many have learned so much from your mom and I am appreciative that she and I were able to have lunch a couple of times last year. I enjoyed hearing about babysitting / grandchild adventures and the new puppy. I will miss her. I hope her memories bring you strength and love during this difficult time.
