In memory of

Catharina Jansen

1934 - 2023

JANSEN, Catharina

January 25, 1934 – July 1, 2023

Catharina (“Ieneke”) Jansen, completed her journey to heaven to be with the Lord Jesus and with her husband Aart. She was born in Schiedam, Netherlands, and grew up in Rotterdam where she met the love of her life. They married on February 5, 1957 and shortly after immigrating to Canada, they settled in Ottawa. Ieneke will be missed by her six children, Ed Jansen (Alice), Mark Jansen, Judi Broersma (Michael), Ieneke Jansen, Rob Jansen and Dan Jansen. She was a wonderful mom, Oma to ten grandchildren and G'Oma to 16 great-grandchildren. Ieneke’s faith was very important to her and was reflected in her relationships with family and friends. Her career over the years included kindergarten teacher, nursery school director, retail, real estate agent, and community care worker (PSW), which was her favourite as she thoroughly enjoyed working with the elderly. She had a great sense of humour, loved to sing, and always had a smile on her face. Ieneke was very creative. When seeing a craft someone made she would say “I can do that”. She loved gardening and enjoyed being out in nature. Ieneke was generous, always willing to help others. A celebration of Ieneke's life will be held at Calvary Christian Reformed Church at 11am July 8, 2023. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to World Renew at worldrenew.net.
